Dreaded grooming

It's been a quiet week.
I'm going to Ireland next week so laying low with my diminishing funds.
Thus, I decided to tidy up my so called dreadlocks. It's free and takes time - SOLD!.. To the jobless scruff in the corner.
They started to look like this:
All non-lock and knot-like.
So I bought a crotchet hook, and they went like this:
Despite the headache, I made some great progress.
'til I snapped the hook!!
GAH. Idiot.
I've had enough.

In the process, I have kept up with AusBB, and watched The Breakfast Club,
27 Dresses, About a Boy, Hugo, Easy A, Crazy Stupid Love, and the one DVD I bought overseas with me.. my Toto DVD - three times.

Me n WeZ got our fix of popcorn this week and checked out the new
Bourne flick.
Not bad, but I didn't think it to be anything special.
They nailed in the trilogy, why try again?!

Quiet few days ahead in preparation for more sea shells and sandy tales.

Last minute mission

I met my sis, Rach and Chris in the park for some weekend Pimms and sunshine.
The heat turned our melting minds to thoughts of ocean breezes. In no time, a plan towards the beach was in action..
The amazing house
(cheers Rach!)
Beach, Sandman, beach.
Happy days!

A Batastic display of sand building skills!
Whilst being away from Aus is hard at times,
the freedom to randomly adventure with V is great!
: )

na na na na na na na na batman!

Saw the new Batman at Imax in the city..
The screen was spectacularly MASSIVE !!
HUGE!
Watching was a little unnerving at first...
a packed out cinema sparked thoughts of the American tragedy.
It'd be so easy to mistake gunshot for being part of the film. Yakies.

Was a great flick.
I didn't find Tom Hardy scary so much as impressively built!
The guy is a machine!!

Now what not to watch..
I thought it might be a cool kids flick.
Nope. it was shit.
 A giant flea that sings.
 My recommendation is don't.

Or do.. but you've been warned!

A little more on yesterday..

Last day of the Olympics promised a city buzz, so off we went to explore.
We found...

Man on a tightrope juggling knives
Fundom lovin' Aussie
WeZ's phone floats
Men in orange
A few waters

Sunny waters egde at Hyde Park
V, Rach & a flying terror of giggles

A castle
The big screen that shared delight and pure confusion!
Giant ocotupus with Fatboy Slim in the middle,
Eurythmics singer on a pirate ship,
George Michael being... George Michael,
Jesse J leading Queen,
A man being shot out of a cannon
And yes, I sang and danced along with the Spice girls as they paraded
around Olympic stadium on black cabs like awkward Barbie dolls
Last but not least was Tower bridge.

Tiny tiny orange light in the far distance marks the London bridge.
Boring lookin' thing with one light marking it's uneventful stretch across the water.
If it did in fact fall down, no-one would miss it.

Knackered !

Just home from closing ceremony festivities in London.
Watched it all on a big screen at Tower hill .. then temporary Olympic Danish party town.
What a vibe!
Lotsa walkin' !
Sleepy time.

Olympic buzz

It's everywhere.
In the city, on every signpost, at home on the couch.
BBC are broadcasting EVERYTHING!
Loads n loads of channels covering every event.

So me n Wez bailled into town for the day to soak up some of the
vibes 'n' do a bit of people watching...
Trafalgar Square
I found the Australian food shop on the way.. I am truly ashamed at the cash I spent on Pizza shapes, Milo, Twisties and Creamed corn !
I introduced Wez some sweets too ...

We then made our way to Prince Charles cinema.
It's so old! Cool ol' chairs.. they make their moolah showing classics and having sing alongs.
What better way to top out day than an Almost Famous fix.
It went for 2 & a half hours ! Heaps of extras !!
It was like learning you're old friend was hiding secrets from you all this time.

 Good watch, another great day.

Polska poundland!

Last week, I spent 4 splendid days in Poland. The land of sausage, cheap goodness, colourful buildings and sunshine, where hardly anyone speaks English. Splendid!
Day 1, fried cheese, dumplings and vodka
weeeeeee! :D
I went to visit gorgeous Aussie mate Sandra..
We ate pizza with broccoli and tomato sauce...
and saw some beautiful sites !
We also did alot of cheap shopping, ate ice cream
and took an uneventuful ride down the river..
But all we really wanted to do, was find the Lovers' bridge!
Night one, we strolled in search for hours and failed. 4 incorrect bridges! How many can there be?!
Turns out there's shittonnes! Like.. 143 or something?!
We hadn't a hope, so the next morning, we googled, and prevailed!

Once Sandra disappeared off into the pebbly streets back to Aus, I did a couple of days on my lonesome, just 'cause I can! I went back to the bridge, ate a polish hot dog, spent an hour at the post office posting vodka back to London, socialised with the hostel goers and ate some more cheese accompanied by lovely honey vodka.

Botanical gardens
Wroclaw is known as the city of dwarfs,
these lil fellas are scattered everywhere!
In the end I cut my trip short by 4 days and returned to England early.
Wroclaw is a small city! Esp when explored with me myself and I..
Pennies are low and I have another Irish trip ahead this month.
Mel-ogic bought me back to a delighted Wez :)
First time using the Maltese passport, and not one stamp! >.<
On the flip side, crossing borders was a breeze.
Happy days.

From my not so fancy phone in Polska

London goes alright, but the time came again for me to branch out beyond the border..
Meet Poland, Sandra, and sunshine :)
