Donington Downpour

This week just gone, Wez n I attended my first European festival.
Download. Is rock n roll, ya!
I witnessed the following bands although I don't necessarily remember them all:

Metallica     Black Sabbath     TenaciousD     Steel Panther
NOFX     Ugly Kid Joe     The Prodigy     Sound Garden
 Chase & Status      Devin Townsend

As much as I loved the music, the mud will forever stick as my main memory of my 4 day experience!
Most hygienic part of the trip.. @train station
a-hem!
Train ride done, we reach the bus, and I see stacks! :D
I got a lil bit excited and a tingle in my heart at the thought of home!
And then...
We arrived safe only to be greeted by unexplainable MUD!
My shoes were short lived, I purchased my first pair of 'wellies' and a proper raincoat day 1.
The ground looked like chocolate and felt like slippery sand..
We set up camp a hike away on a hill and Paddy pitched his flag.
The mud, the rain, the chill...
It was like this Thursday, Friday and Saturday!

AND SO.. WE DRANK !

This is a tiny slice of the iddy-biddy bit of blue sky that hovered over 100,000 people on the last day.

I know one other Aussie female from home (aside from my sis) that's living in London.
I drank with her once back home.. friend of a friend.
She found me amongst the epic muddy crowd!?
I nearly ignored the poor girl in pure disbelief.
Was nice to have a friendly Aussie accent pass my ears.
By the last day.. I was positively knackered!
Housemate Kev came for one day..
He ever so kindly drove us home after the last act so our exhausted bods
didn't have to treck home on a train the following morning :)

Mad festival!

  2. I used the 4 day festival as some sort of explaination for the state of me, however I am scruff central on a daily basis.. just in different shoes.
